Servers
Every server is its own place.
Run one on a home PC, a Raspberry Pi or a VPS. Every server is independent, IRC-style, with no central account, and one profile signs you in to each one you join.
Pull up a chair.
The servers listed on the Grapevine, checked live. Listings never show an address, by design: to join one, open Concord, press Ctrl+G on the login screen, pick it and press A.
Checking the Grapevine…
Only servers whose owners chose to list them appear here. Plenty of servers are private, and that's fine too.
Say hi.
News, help, and people to play games with. If you said yes in the installer, it's already in your server list.
- address
- server.concordchat.cc
- port
- 443
- TLS
- on (it's behind HTTPS)
- also on
- the Grapevine, as "Concord"
Not in your list? Press Ctrl+N (or + in the server column), enter the address and port 443, and turn on TLS. Or find it on the Grapevine with Ctrl+G.
Three ways in.
One profile (a name, your email and a password) signs you in to every server you join. Switching servers doesn't drop you from a voice call.
- 01
From the Grapevine
Ctrl+G on the login screen, or Settings → Manage Servers → B. Pick a server and press A.
- 02
By address
Ctrl+N or + in the server column, then the address and port. Turn on TLS for servers behind HTTPS.
- 03
The official one
The installer can add
server.concordchat.ccfor you. Say yes, and it's waiting when you sign in.
Your server, your rules.
The first person to sign up on a new server becomes its owner. Then manage channels, roles, members and plugins from Ctrl+B.
The easy way
Run the one-line installer and pick a server. It asks for a name and port, writes the settings, starts it in the background, checks it's up, and can list it on the Grapevine.
curl -fsSL https://github.com/JMThomas00/Concord/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh
curl -fsSL https://github.com/JMThomas00/Concord/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh
irm https://github.com/JMThomas00/Concord/releases/latest/download/install.ps1 | iex
Sharing it: on your network, the installer's summary shows the address. Across the internet, forward the port or put it behind a tunnel.
By hand
The first run of concord-server walks through a setup wizard (terms, name, port, email, Grapevine) and writes concord-server.toml in the folder it runs from.
concord-server
- --reconfigure
- run the setup wizard again
- --hybrid
- a live dashboard beside the log
- --dashboard
- the dashboard instead of the log
- --debug
- verbose logging
- --test-mail
- send a test email with the [mail] settings
- --reset-password
- a temporary password for that account (servers without mail)
